Another indescribably awful crime committed in the name of Islamic law.
An Islamist rebel administration in Somalia had a 13-year-old girl stoned to death for adultery after the child's father reported that three men had raped her.
Amnesty International said the al-Shabab militia, which controls the southern port city of Kismayo, arranged for a group of 50 men to stone Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow in front of a crowd of about 1,000 spectators. A lorryload of stones was brought to the stadium for the killing.
Amnesty said that Duhulow struggled with her captors and had to be forcibly carried into the stadium.
"At one point during the stoning, Amnesty International has been told by numerous eyewitnesses that nurses were instructed to check whether Aisha Ibrahim Duhulow was still alive when buried in the ground. They removed her from the ground, declared that she was, and she was replaced in the hole where she had been buried for the stoning to continue," the human rights group said.

Somali Taliban. I tell you, Muslim men make me sick. Always so quick to hurt women and for things the men do. They kill because it gives them entertainment, but they play with God. This is what gives Islam a bad name. Why why men do you do this? Why can't Muslim men stop this madness. The Afghani girl tortured and sexually assaulted, wasn't she also thirteen? Why don't muslim men hold these other men accountable instead of standing by. Where are the meetings? The councils to discuss and stop this killing and torturing of women? This is what the world believes Islam is, and this makes it hard to refute. Shame Shame on all these so called Muslim men. How could a thirteen year old girl be responsible for her own rape????"?
This is utterly insane. How is this in any way Islamic?
This isn't justice or religion or anything that remotely resembles an outcome of Divine will. This is mass dementia, murder by mob, a vile and disgusting act, and nothing more.
The "bone-headed" tag was spot on, but there isn't anything shari' about what went on there. A young girl was cruelly punished for reporting a crime, an act that should shame all involved. I almost pity Aisha's murderers when I reflect that God is just. Almost.
I strongly doubt the accuracy of this story, the AP, Foxnews, CNN, and the BBC have yet to pick it up, and also no Somali language agency to my knowledge has picked it up (a man on the huffington post pointed that out with 3 links to 3 reputable Somali news agencies).
This story is revolting, if true the whole Islamic World needs to hold their head in shame and the blood of not only the rapists but the entire crowd of 1000 spectators must be shed.
However I doubt the whole story is being reported, it may even be fake. But if it is true heads need to roll.
Don't jump the gun and malign your brothers in faith, most of these stories are improperly reported, take for example the girl from Qatif case, the media completely misrepresented that case.
