Check out our commentator Gideon's blog: Religionism.Net. He has this odd sense, just like us, that progressive means working toward a good end with everyone even people you do not even agree with....Gideon you make a bad liberal and an excellent human being.
Inside PI.Org, please read Omar G's blog. It is consistently thoughtful and powerful stuff. His recent posts are among his best. My favorite is "We're Part of Something Big" transforming American Muslim identity just through love, marriage, and babies. But his recent piece on "Collective Guilt" makes me wonder if he has been reading my beloved Hannah Arendt for breakfast. I look foward to replying to that post later in the day when I've got some time to think and write.
Omar mentions the writer Tariq Nelson in his blog. Tariq is one of the smartest, insightful, solid bloggers out there. I'm in the process of reading through his blogs on Third Ressurection and his own blog Tariq Nelson. He seems to be a fan of Mahmoud El-Gamel and Mohammad Fadel, how could I not then be a fan of his writing?
To read El-Gamel's work go to his blog Islam and Economics. He is an economist at Rice, a rational and ethical man, and comprehensively knowledgable about the Islamic intellectual tradition. Extraordinar human being in my experience. TabarakAllah alayhi.
Last but not least, Omar G's wife Mona has a blog for her local paper called Salaam Sahuarita. She writes reflections on her life in her community there, her family, her friends. It is my regular morning reading. Salams to you Mona! The Gerbera Daisy is for you!

When I click on the religionism.net link, it comes up PAGE NOT FOUND,
but when I manually enter http://religionism.net/ in my browser, then
I reach the page ok.
It seems to work for me, but I went back and re-entered it directly from the site just to make sure, I tried it again, it works. Hope that takes care of it! Thanks for telling me.
Howdy Laury,
Omar just came to me and told me to check out this
website...how flatered I am in having a link posted
here ;-) and thank you for the flower too!
My posts are not as deep in thought as Omar's,
I leave that to Omar most of the time, but nonetheless,I
love writing.
Keep up the good work,
salams,MonaG
Your posts are my cup of tea. I don't read Omar's first thing in the morning! Only after strong coffee!
F.Y.I. - It is now 10:19 p.m. (GMT-5), and the religionism.net link works just fine for me.
Salaams Laury, that's quite good, considering I write mine after a strong couple cups of espresso, myself!
- A Salafi in worship, a Sufi in society, a Secularist in government.
as-salaam alaykum
Laury
Thanks for the compliments
