Cat Stevens' New Album

I just now read the interesting post here on Ann Coulter. Following links from that post lead me to the beliefnet site. Once there, I clicked on Islam, and discovered this article below about Cat Stevens' new album.

Forgive a foolish question, but I am new to some of this. What are some of your opinions regarding Cat Stevens? Would you call him progressive?
