Some argue that the rebozo may have originated from the Philippines, it is quite possible that the rebozo could be Islamic in origin, it could quite possibly be the Hispanic form of hijab.

I went looking for one online- haven't found one in the right shade for Laury yet- and most of the references to them online are as baby carriers. Laury and I are SO not ready for that.
Rebozos are used as baby carriers, but they are not merely for the handling of infants.
I used to carry my baby in a sling. The rebozo looks pretty versatile if you know what to do with it. Neato.
