Thousands of Sudanese want British teacher to be shot for incy-wincy little mistake
Thousands of people have marched in the Sudanese capital Khartoum to call for UK teacher Gillian Gibbons to be shot.
Mrs Gibbons, 54, from Liverpool, was jailed by a court on Thursday after allowing children in her class to name a teddy bear Muhammed.
She was sentenced to 15 days for insulting religion, and she will then be deported…(read the whole article here).
It really disgusts me how stupid and backward thinking some people can be. I’m a Muslim, but I don’t see why someone should be shot, or even arrested just for calling a teddy bear Muhammed. As an Allah-fearing Muslim, I do not see what is so offensive about calling a teddy bear Muhammed. If it’s really that bad, then why do we call our children Muhammed?
This innocent woman had absolutely no intention to insult Islam or the Prophet Muhammed (peace be upon him) – to be honest, I’m sure neither Allah nor Muhammed (peace be upon him) actually mind.

Laura I don’t know much
Laura
I don’t know much about Sudan but it seems to me that this is the release for some larger issues. I couldn’t possibly be only about the teddy bear. Could it be about poverty and oppression of the third world by the Western/European countries?
It reminds me of a verse in the Quran (I’m terrible with actual ayat’s so if anyone knows it please post) that some people are injured because they are near the ones being punished.
Her class voted to call the
Her class voted to call the teddy bear Muhammad. This just shows how fucking stupid some Muslims are.
A couple weeks ago I talked
A couple weeks ago I talked to Idries, the man who runs The Center, Springfield’s own NOI Bookstore and Research Center. He said he had been talking to our elected representative about Darfur, and the Democrat said he couldn’t go there because the government didn’t want people traveling there. Well, Idries had just come back from Darfur, and he’s a private citizen, so it would seem an elected official could figure out some way to do it. (Or maybe it really is easier for a Black Muslim to go there than for a White Official!) Idries told me Your Government’s Lying To You Again (big surprise) ... he says they’re playing up the conflict there so they can get the UN in to stabilize the area and—tada!—get at the oil and uranium under the ground.
Whenever there are hordes of angry Muslims in the media, I just know it’s a big fnord.
One would think that a
One would think that a teacher in Karthoum Sudan would be trained in the do’s and dont’s of Islamic society.
What I am about to narrate to you is not some joke, but is an actual cartoon episode that aired on national television.
One South Park cartoon episode features Jesus, and God the Father, as cartoon characters. The old rerun episode takes place on the eve of 1999 entering the new 21st century millennium. All the Christians come to Jesus’ house (in the suburbs) and demand that God the Father make an appearance, in honor of the millennium.
Jesus arranges for a new year’s eve celebration in Las Vegas. God the Father DOES make an appearance, in the episode, and is depicted as a homely-monkey like creature. Everyone is so shocked, saying, I did not think God would look THAT way.
Americans do tolerate outrageous parody in their society, and no heads roll; no hands are chopped off, no one is lashed, imprisoned or fined.
I suppose if there is an Allah, then he must surely be aware of that South Park cartoon episode, and must feel rather offended. Fortunately, there are brave police in the world to imprison elderly kindergarten teachers, and avenge the honor of the almighty God, and the seal of the Prophets, since neither Allah nor the Prophet are likely to avenge themselves at this juncture in time.
Now that sounds more
Now that sounds more likely. Instead of making us allowing it to become a Muslim issue we should expose it for what it is. Manipulation. Terrible really that I’ve posted about it twice! I should be posting about other more important things.
